PROJECT 1
President:
Kamila Thompson

Bio: Hello my name is Kamila and I will be the President this 2020-2021 school year. I love NSBE and impacting change for other black engineers so I know I will love this role. A little more about me: I grew up with my parents, older sister, and twin brother in Pickerington, OH, when I graduate I plan to go to graduate school to receive my PhD, and in my free time I enjoy reading and listening to my record collection. I hope to get to know members I haven't met yet better as we all have a successful year!
Goals:
I am really excited to lead the chapter this year and continue our path of excellence! My official goals for the chapter focus on the increase in four areas: freshmen retention, community service, academic resources, and professional development. I want our members to live the NSBE mission while also being equipped with everything they need to prosper in every area, academic or otherwise. Outside of the official chapter goals I really want every student that comes to a meeting or event to feel the NSBE fam atmosphere we bring and know they have a support system to get them through school. We are all here for each other and I want everyone to know they are welcome!

Bio: Hello! I am originally from Marion, Ohio and this is my second year on the executive board. I have been involved in NSBE going on four years now, but outside of NSBE I am a member of ACM-W and a mentor for an all-girls FIRST Robotics team. In my free time I like to read my Bible, workout, and travel. My previous internship in Seattle exposed me to an intense love for water sports and hiking, so you can catch me exploring the outdoors whenever possible!
Goals: One of the many goals I have for the upcoming school year include increasing the feeling of community within our executive board in hopes that that will overflow into our general body. NSBE is most effective and beneficial when each individual feels as if they are a part of the family, so my goal is to make sure each member feels connected, informed, and supported. At the end of this year, I want to be able to say that I did everything in my power to equip our executive board with the tools and support they need to provide the best experiences for our amazing chapter.
